DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

— Clarity before Craft

Hi, I’m Allan.

I’m a product designer with 6+ years’ experience bridging multi-platform UX, visual systems, and brand strategy. My background spans industrial design, branding, packaging, and visual merchandising (VM), giving me a holistic understanding of how design works across touchpoints.

Industrial design made me obsessed with form and function. Branding and VM taught me the value of visual systems and consistency. But it was my time as a flight attendant that exposed me to real-world empathy, constraints, and the need for relevance — especially in a world shaped by diversity.

| Design is often messy, constrained, and deeply human.

In recent years, I’ve led public-sector digital transformation projects, using systems thinking to turn complex requirements into clear, user-centred solutions that align with organisational goals. I’m now focused on deepening my work in complex systems, with a long-term aim of moving into service design to shape holistic experiences that connect seamlessly across contexts.

Beyond Work

Outside of work, I’m drawn to furniture and interior design, having completed three residential projects from space planning to bespoke fittings. I’m also a pasta enthusiast and a proud father — my daughter constantly reminds me that the best designs are the ones that bring joy.
